The most important lesson students must learn – in school and in their lives – is how to learn. Students who understand their learning style and needs are better able to plan for tasks, monitor mistakes, and evaluate struggles. This puts them in the powerful position to be able to self-direct, adjust, and adapt using critical thinking, creative problem solving, and decision making skills. Students with these abilities no longer “need” a tutor.
Possessing the skills is one thing; putting them into effect is another. It is vital that students also feel empowered to find their unique voice, take calculated risks, advocate for themselves and others, and take initiative. Students with emotional intelligence, empathy, and growth mindset develop into conscious leaders who become agents of change in their own lives, communities, and the world.
We interweave these lessons into our Academic, Enrichment, and Test Prep instruction.
