Executive function & study skills

For the bright student who struggles to plan, start, or finish.

Executive function is the set of skills that help students plan, get started, stay organized, and follow through. When those skills lag, grades suffer even when the understanding is there.

The short answer

Executive function tutoring/coaching helps students build planning, time management, organization, task initiation, working memory, and self-monitoring habits. WorldWise Tutoring teaches these skills one-to-one, usually alongside the student's real coursework, in person in Illinois and Texas or online.

What it looks like

Missing or late assignments, an overflowing backpack, last-minute cramming, "I didn't know it was due," or hours of homework that should take one.

Taught on real work

Skills stick when they're practiced on this week's assignments - so your tutor builds systems inside actual classes, not worksheets about organization.

Toward independence

Support is gradually handed back to the student, with the goal that they no longer need us.

Common questions

No. Many students without any diagnosis benefit. Executive function skills develop at different rates, and they can be taught.
