For admission to Chicago’s top high schools, a high school placement exam must be completed. Selective Enrollment High Schools, such as Walter Payton and Whitney Young, require the CPS SEHS placement exams. Independent Private High Schools, like Francis W. Parker and The Latin School, require a different assessment called the ISEE. While the Private Catholic High Schools, Loyola Academy and St. Ignatius College Prep, require students to complete the HSPT. Attempting to navigate through these different exams can be daunting.
